We decided to give this traditional beer bread recipe a little spin when we came across the recipe in our wedding recipe box. The kind of collections that everyone leaves when they go to your bridal shower, and then they sit for years untouched until you go on the hunt for something else to make for dinner. We started this easy elevated beer bread recipe with just a basic beer bread recipe that someone had left us. I’m sure this is the same basic recipe that millions of others have used, but it was simple, easy, and the kids liked it.
The best part about all of this is that we made it 3 different ways for various types of meals, and it only took about an hour.
Jalapeno Cheddar Beer Bread

This jalapeno cheddar beer bread goes excellent with most any style of stew, soup, of chili. It has a crispy outside, and a warm and squishy inside. It also holds together well for dipping, or you can spread a thin layer of cream cheese on top with a little sprinkle of red pepper flakes. Honestly, we’ve sat around and ate an entire life all by itself.
Tools tips and extras for making beer bread – Invest in a good dough whisk, and a loaf pan especially if you plan on making bread on the regular. Also, lining your pan with parchment paper, and a spritz of olive oil minimizes clean-up. Check out how we Dehydrating Frozen Jalapenos too! They are great to have on hand for many other recipes.

Garlic Parmesan and Herb Beer Bread

This Garlic Parmesan and Herb Beer bread is also another winner for us. You can really use any type of fresh herb you want, but it gave us a chance to use up the rest of the herbs from our herb garden. Small tubs of shredded parmesan cheese store well in the freezer, so we always have that on hand. I wouldn’t recommended using the powdered parmesan cheese for this, fresh is best! Also great with a little spread of pesto!
All of these bread recipes store well in an air-tight baggie for 3-4 days. Truthfully, our family will eat and entire loaf in one day, so it rarely lasts that long.

Equipment
- 1 Loaf Pan
Ingredients
- 3 Cups AP Flour
- 3 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- ¼ Cup Sugar
- 12 oz Beer Wheat Beer gives great flavor!
- ½ Cup Melted Butter (Unsalted)
- 5 oz Grated Parmesan Cheese
- 2 tbsp Minced Garlic
- ¼ Cup Fresh or Dried Herbs of your choice We used fresh basil, thyme, oregano, rosemary, and sage from our herb garden.
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
- Mix dry ingredients, beer and cheese into a greased loaf pan.
- Pour the melted butter over the mixture.
- Bake for 1 hour.
- Let it site and cool for a few minutes or eat it right away. This bread tastes best right out of the oven.
Sun Dried Tomato and Spinach Beer Bread
Sun Dried tomato and spinach beer bread was yet another favorite. This recipe pairs well with all things PASTA! Maybe even a glass of red wine. Spaghetti, lasagna, or most anything that has a saucy tomato base or sauce. Serve it warm with a meal, or just as an appetizer with a glass of wine. Either way, this one is winner too!

Equipment
- 1 Loaf Pan
Ingredients
- 3 Cups AP Flour
- 3 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- ¼ Cup Sugar
- 12 oz Beer Wheat beer gives the best flavor
- ½ Cup Melted Butter
- 2 tbsp Italian seasoning
- 2 Cups Fresh Spinach (Chopped and steams removed) Use fresh, because frozen will make your bread watery. Also, using too much will overtake your bread, and it won't hold together.
- 3 oz Sun dried tomatoes If you use the ones in oil, make sure they are well drained, and patted dry.
All of these beer bread recipes are great options for any night or weekend meal. You can store them for several days in an airtight baggie, but they are best served WARM! RIGHT OUT OF THE OVEN! Any of these breads pair great with almost any family dinner, or can easily be placed on any occasional charcuterie board.
