Easy Homemade Eggnog

Easy Homemade Eggnog

We found this easy eggnog recipe in my grandmothers’ recipe collection several years ago, and we’ve been making it every year since. We’ve drifted away from buying the store bought because, this one taste so much better, and even the kids can help with it. It’s thick, frothy and has just the right amount of spice, unlike what we’ve purchased in years past. If I had to guess, I would say it was somewhere during the 1960’s or so, because the recipe was so faded and worn, and grandma hadn’t cooked much since the late 80’s.

This easy eggnog brings me right back to Christmases with my grandmother around the 1980s—a house full of family, laughter in every room, and good food always within reach. Foamy, rich, and creamy, it’s the kind of eggnog meant to be shared while lingering at the table, savoring the season and the simple joy of just being together. If you are looking for more food to enjoy together this Christmas season you can also try Christmas Cranberry Clusters, Christmas Punch, Christmas Tea, or 4 Dips to make this holiday season. You can also make this a more adult version by adding your choice of Brandy, or spiced Rum.
