Banana Roll Ups

Banana Roll Ups

When I was a kid back in the 1980’s a spoonful of peanut butter on the front porch after school was my treat. Now, I can have the best of both worlds if I add the banana to these bananas roll ups.

Ingredients

  • 4 whole-wheat tortillas
  • 8 tbsp Peanut butter
  • 2 Bananas The more straight the banana the better
  • 2 tbsp Chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp Honey locally sourced honey is best if you can.

Instructions

  • Lay the tortillas flat and spread each one with 2 tablespoons of peanut butter, reaching all the way to the edges.
  • Place the sliced bananas in a row on the tortilla, sprinkle them with chia seeds, and drizzle on the honey.
  • Roll the tortillas up so the bananas are in the center and cut them into 1-inch pinwheels.

Notes

If you are able to use locally sourced honey, then that is the best option.  It tastes better.  We typically get ours from Silver Dollar City when we go.  Honey lasts forever, and you can gently heat it up to make it more spreadable if it becomes too crystalized.

Banana Roll Ups

This is a super simple snack that can be made for an after-school treat. It is relatively healthy, or you can opt for a Spinach Queso dip if you prefer. With two kids of our own this has been our go-to snack. I will say that the adults can partake in the snacking as well, but the kids enjoy it most off all. With all of the ooey-gooey goodness, this has been a homerun for us and afterschool or a weekend snack.
