There’s something comforting about a bowl of wild rice, it’s the kind of ingredient that transforms a simple meal into something special. Whether you’re serving it as a side dish or the heart of a main meal, this wild rice brings a depth of flavor and texture that’s hard to beat. This recipe is one of our favorites, and so easy to make. It’s perfect for weeknight dinners, holiday tables, or anytime you want to bring a something extra to your plate.
Ingredients
- 3 Cups of long grain wild rice
- 1 small onion (diced)
- 1 Green Pepper (diced)
- 1 1/2 cups celery (diced)
- 2 cups water
- 1 small can of sliced mushrooms (not drained)
- 1 Can cream of mushroom soup
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- Butter and/or olive oil to sauté.
- Salt and pepper to taste


Wild Rice
Ingredients
- 3 Cups Wild Rice
- 1 Small Onion diced
- 1 Green Pepper diced
- 1 ½ Cups Celery diced
- 1 small can Sliced Mushrooms undrained
- 1 Can Cream of Mushroom
- 2 tbsp Minced Garlic
- 2 Cups Water
- Butter and Olive Oil to sauté.
- Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the diced onion, diced celery, diced pepper and the minced garlic until translucent. Salt and pepper to taste.
- In a greased baking dish pour the rice in the bottom.
- Next pour in the cream of mushroom, two cups of water, and the can of undrained mushrooms. Gently stir to mix.
- Place uncovered in the oven and cook at 325 degrees for about 45 minutes. About halfway through stir and add a little more water if needed so it's doesn't get too dry.
