Bean and Bacon Queso

Bean and Bacon Queso

Bean and bacon queso is another great crockpot dip that’s great for any weekend during the summer. Truth be told, in our house sometimes, queso passes for an entire meal. It’s easy to snack on all day Saturday, and then pop it back in the crockpot for gameday on Sunday. I’m not sure sometimes how we made it before crockpots had the removeable insert. I can distinctly remember trying to clean them back in the 80’s, and it was quite the challenge washing them without getting the chord wet.

Ingredients for bean and bacon queso

1 block Cream Cheese

1 small can Green Chilies

2 can Bean and Bacon Soup

1 Cup Thick and Chunky Salsa

1lb. Ground beef or sausage

1 block Velveeta

Bean and Bacon Queso

Instructions:

In a medium skillet brown the hamburger and sausage. Once complete, drain grease and set aside.

Mix all other ingredients into a crockpot and cook on low for about 2 hours stirring occasionally.

Add the browned hamburger or sausage about 30 minutes before serving just to heat through. We do this so that the meat doesn’t continue to cook. For us it sometimes, cooks the meat down to nothing, and had a sandy or gritty taste.
