Easy Candied Bacon

This easy candied bacon recipe is just what we needed for our summer barbeques. We were just looking for a better way to dress up boring hamburgers on the grill, and we think we found it.   The great thing is that you can add it to almost any burger, or you can just eat it as a snack.

Easy Candied Bacon

Ingredients

1 package bacon.  We used the thick sliced, but thin sliced works as well.

1 1/2 cups brown sugar

1/2 cup maple syrup

 

Instructions

Mix the brown sugar and the maple syrup in a bowl.  You can add more if you want – the more brown sugar and syrup added to the bacon the more gooey it will becomes.

Lay all of the strips of bacon out on a baking sheet lined with foil. (easy cleanup)

Brush the mixture on one side, and put it in the oven at 400 degrees.

After about 10 minutes pull the bacon out, flip them all over, and brush on the other side.

Repeat the process every 5 minutes until the bacon is browned.  The entire process takes about 30 minutes.

The real excitement comes when you put it on a BURGER!
