Prep Time 10 minutes

Equipment

  • 1 Sun Tea Jug

Ingredients

  • 3 Peaches pitted and sliced.
  • 3 Cups Water
  • 3 Cups Sugar or sweetener of your choice.
  • Mint Leaves
  • 3-4 Large Tea Bags
  • Ice

Instructions

  • Fill your tea jug about a third of the way full of water and drop in your tea bags. Side aside.
  • In a large pot bring to a rolling boil the 3 cups water, 3 cups sugar, and the peach slices. Stirring consistently. Make sure all of the sugar is dissolved and remove from heat. Let it cool for a few minutes.
  • Next you can remove the peaches slices or leave them in if you wish. Pour your simple syrup into the tea jug and give it a good stir. Just make sure it has slightly cooled. You don't want to bust your tea jug.
  • Depending on the size of your tea jug, you may need to add more water to bring it to the top.
  • Next, take the tea jug outside, and find a really sunny space that receives direct sunlight. Set the jug in the sun for about 4-6 hours and let it do its thing.
  • Store in the refrigerator to keep it extra cool.
  • Fill a tall glass with ice, dispense tea to the top, garnish with fresh mint or an extra peach and enjoy!

Notes

  • The jug of tea lasts almost the weekend in our house, so we just leave the peach slices floating around in the jar.  It’s never really lasted more than 2 days, especially during the summer.
  • We have made this during the cooler months, and in that case, we just boil the water and the bags on the stove.  The we proceed with the rest of the steps.
  • You could play around with the simple syrup ratio, if you wanted a little less sweet.

Tip – For extra flavor, muddle a few peach slices in the bottom of each glass before serving or add a splash of honey while the tea is still warm. (Before adding Ice). Store in the fridge and enjoy within 2-3 days for the freshest taste. If peaches aren’t what you’re looking for you can always follow the same steps with other fruits like raspberries, strawberries, or blueberries. You can also add your favorite vodka, or you can try Cherry Moscow Mule, Strawberry Vodka Lemonade, or Cranberry Vodka Punch (best for the holidays).
