Strawberry Twinkie Trifle
Equipment
- 1 Trifle Bowl. You can use a different glass dish to layer, but we never tried it that way,
- 1 Hand Mixer
- 2 Medium Bowls
Ingredients
- 3 pkgs Cream Cheese
- 1 Cup Sugar or sweetener of your choice.
- 2 envelopes Dream Whip I box contains 2 envelopes.
- 2 tbsp Vanilla
- 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 2 16 oz. Packages of Fresh Strawberries. Depending on how you layer it, you may want to use more.
- 1 Box Twinkies At least one depending on how you layer it you may want more.
- 1 Cup Milk for the Dream Whip
- Mint leaves for garnish Optional
Instructions
- In one bowl mix the 2 envelopes of Dream whip with 1 cup milk and 1 tbsp Vanilla. A hand mixer works best and saves time. Mix on high for about 10 minutes until it thickens, and you have a whipped consistency. Instructions are on the box if you need them. Then set a side.
- In another bowl mix the cream cheese, lemon juice, and remaining vanilla.
- Begin layering in the bottom of the trifle dish. We start with the Twinkies, sliced on the bottom. Followed by the Dream Whip, sliced strawberries, and cream cheese mixture.
- Keep layering until you have used all of the ingredients. We layered the Twinkies different ways each time. Some were halved and some were sliced.
Notes
Not every trifle bowl is the same size, so feel free to layer however you choose. We slice the strawberries, but if you can place them in whole if you like. This is your trifle so you can make it as pretty or as messy as you like. You do what works best for you. Sometimes when we make it, it's a hot mess. Other times we make it look really pretty.
